![]() I picked 13 songs by bands that are generally considered punk/emo or indie rock that find the time to go full-on metal. ![]() But even outside of obvious punk/metal crossovers like Cro-Mags and Suicidal Tendencies and Black Flag's My War, there are a handful of non-metal punk and indie bands that have been known to get metal as fuck, and I've decided to tackle this subject in the form of a list. It's no surprise to anyone paying attention that punk and indie rock bands would flirt with metal (or vice versa), and especially in punk, there's a long and rich history of cross-pollination with metal. If you look for it, you'll often find metal in surprising places, like, say, songs by punk and indie rock bands. Stereotypes exist that suggest "non-metalheads" never listen to metal, and metalheads only listen to metal, even though that's rarely the case. And yet, metal can seem so niche - at least in the US - and it can also feel very tribal. Two decades later, it was released a DVD version of this album.Heavy metal is more popular than pop music according to 2015 Spotify stats, the fastest-growing music genre in the world according to a 2019 report from TuneCore, and though some people think extreme subgenres like death metal inspire violence, they actually inspire joy, according to science. In fact, its sales were much higher than all his previous releases. ![]() "Pongamos que hablo de Madrid (Let's say I'm talking about Madrid) with Antonio Sánchez"ĭue to the success of the tour and partly because the controversy created by some of the songs, this album turned into the commercial breakthrough of Joaquín Sabina. ![]() "Pisa el acelerador (Step on the accelerator) with Javier Gurruchaga" "Adiós adiós!! (Bye bye!!) with Javier Gurruchaga" "Rebajas de enero (January sales) with Javier Martínez" "Whisky sin soda (Whisky without soda) With Hilario Camacho" "Cuervo ingenuo (Naive crow) with Javier Krahe" "Pongamos que hablo de Joaquín (Let's say I'm talking about Joaquín) By Luis Eduardo Aute" As a reaction, the performer interpreted during the concert, in a duo with Javier Krahe, a song entitled "Cuervo ingenuo" (Naive crow), which criticised the political ambiguity of PSOE, the ruling party and Felipe González, its leader and Spanish president. Although the country finally ended up staying inside the organisation after a referendum, the left wing sector of the Spanish politics, to which Sabina belonged to, reacted negatively to this fact. In 1986 Sabina participated in a campaign against the Spanish NATO membership. Other collaborators in the concert are Javier Gurruchaga and Jaume Sisa. During the concert, some invited artist took part on it including Javier Krahe, who had previously collaborated with Sabina in the album La mandrágora and Luis Eduardo Aute, who performed, during the concert, a song dedicated to Sabina entitled "Pongamos que hablo de Joaquín" (Let's say I'm talking about Joaquín). The songs performed in this record cover the albums: Inventario, Malas Compañías, Ruleta Rusa and Juez y parte including some new songs. This successful tur ended in Madrid, where this album was recorded. Since the release of Juez y parte (Judge and side) the previous year, the popularity of Sabina started growing significantly to the point that the performer started a tour around many cities of Spain. ![]()
